We are looking for an enthusiastic Section Cook to join and support our busy, friendly kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, forward-thinking and inclusive college, working as part of a supportive catering team alongside the Deputy Sous Chef, Sous Chef, Section Chef, Pastry Chef and Head Chef.
You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of dishes for the servery, dinners, conferences and other catering events, ensuring a consistently high standard of quality. You will also need to follow allergen and dietary requirements carefully to ensure the safety of our students, staff, fellows and conference guests.
No formal cooking qualifications are required to apply for this role. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for food, some practical cooking experience and a positive attitude towards learning and development. You should enjoy cooking, take pride in your work and be enthusiastic about building your skills and progressing within a professional kitchen environment.
Shifts are predominantly 9.30 – 13.30, Monday to Friday. You will work one weekend in four working 9.30 – 14.30 Friday, 10.00 – 18.00 Saturday and 7.00 – 15.00 Sunday, on a working weekend you will not be required to work Monday – Thursday.
