SETsquared is an award-winning business accelerator, running a large number of high-profile events and training/support programmes each year including showcases for international business investors and presentations to political stakeholders at the House of Commons. The showcases, presentations and training programmes bring together start-up and scale-up businesses, investors, corporates as well as senior academics, researchers, students and political audiences with the purpose of helping businesses to grow and deliver economic impact.

We are now looking for a Senior Programme and Events Coordinator to effectively manage a portfolio of events, from high-profile investor events (including showcases for international business investors, internal celebratory events and presentations at the House of Commons) to training programmes for entrepreneurs and innovators, providing expert advice and guidance.

Working flexibly within the Investment Programme team at SETsquared, the Senior Programme and Events Coordinator will undertake all tasks related to event/programme planning, coordination and delivery, including financial operations and customer engagement.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a strong sense of responsibility and ownership to deliver the programme or event to the finish line, the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a busy team. You will be a self-starter and will enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a fast-moving environment, with genuine enthusiasm for events and training/support programmes for founders.  You will have strong office experience in a customer-focused environment. Experience in event delivery is essential and if this was within a technology environment this would be desirable.

Our vision and mission at the University of Southampton is to have a community where staff and students feel welcome, supported and valued. Research & Innovation Services fosters a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity, encouraging applicants from diverse backgrounds, with the belief that excellence will be achieved through recognising the value of every individual. While this role can support some remote working, candidates must be able to travel to the University of Southampton on a regular basis as and when needed.
