Applications are invited for one Research Fellowship in either Biological Anthropology; Biology/Biological Sciences; Biotechnology; Chemical Engineering; Chemistry; Computer Science; Ecology; Engineering; Environmental Sciences; Mathematics/Mathematical Sciences; Medicine; Natural Sciences; Physics; Psychology or Veterinary Sciences. Any candidate whose research crosses disciplinary boundaries involving at least one of the subjects listed above (for example, Computer Science and Linguistics) should apply to this competition and not the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences competition. This Fellowship is a fixed-term three-year Research Fellowship normally commencing on 1 October 2023.

The Fellowships are intended for researchers early in their careers. Successful candidates are expected to be either graduate students, probably in the latter stages of their research leading to a PhD Degree, or post-doctoral researchers who have recently been awarded their PhD Degree. Candidates who have undertaken more than five years of full-time research are unlikely to be considered. The College is prepared to consider exceptions to these criteria and candidates have the opportunity to present a case for this during the application process.

Remuneration for a Research Fellow is set by reference to the University of Cambridge salary scale and will start from £24,715.  Free dinner (or lunch) is provided to all Research Fellows regardless of whether they live in or out of College.  Certain research benefits may be reimbursed.  Research fellows may join the University Pension Scheme.

This enables you to save your application and to revisit/edit before submitting it, or to check the status of your application. The online system, https://jrf.jesus.cam.ac.uk will be available for registration from 7 August 2023.

Applications, including two referees' reports, must be submitted online by 5pm on Monday 4 September 2023. Incomplete applications will NOT be accepted. Please make sure that your application and your referees' reports reach us by the closing date.
