We have two Administrator opportunities within our School Support Service at Edinburgh Napier University. The roles is based at our Craiglockhart campus within the University.

Pertinent to both the day-to-day organisation of our Schools and our work into diverse and exciting research and projects; our School Support Service delivers flexible and resilient support to students and academic staff across the University. Simply put, through excellent customer service, we anticipate users' needs and deliver support services that are efficient, accessible and intuitive to our users.

The roles

The administrator role provides the full range of tasks associated with academic administration. We have two opportunities – one is a permanent role in our Programme and Student Support Team and the other is a 12 month fixed term contract, providing maternity cover, based in our Business and Leadership Team. The post holder will undertake a diverse range of administrative tasks associated with supporting students, supporting academic staff and liaising with external partners. This may include support for:

  • Academic staff (particularly Heads of Subject Group, programme and module leaders) including ad hoc requests and administrative support
  • Maintenance of the student record
  • Committee servicing
  • Organising events
  • Attendance monitoring
  • Purchasing and procurement

Please note you may be primarily based at once campus but may need to work across all three of our Campuses when required.

What Are We Looking For?

The ideal candidate will have an HNC/HND (or equivalent) with prior administrative experience (preferably gained within further or higher education). Along with excellent customer service and communication skills you will have the ability to engage and build relationships with students and colleagues alike. You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and juggle priorities as required. You will be comfortable with working to agreed deadlines and will enjoy working within a team environment. Attention to detail and strong IT skills is paramount for the administrator role. The successful candidate will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office packages and, depending on the role offered, receive training to utilise a number of systems including the University’s databases and online learning platforms.

This role will suit an organised and proactive professional with demonstrable customer service skills.
