NTU is a great place to work. We take care of our colleagues with flexible and competitive packages, and the opportunities for genuine professional progress. We respect and value all our staff, because we know that it takes a strong and diverse workforce to maintain the kind of success we’ve achieved.

Our award-winning research is celebrated around the world, and we’re proud of our strategic partnerships. It’s all down to the ability of our people to shape, create and innovate, in whatever capacity they work with us. Our continued success — underpinned by the number of prestigious national awards we’ve won — has hinged on two commitments: creating excellent global collaborations, and harnessing the talents of all our people.

NTU is a university at the peak of its powers, but we know we can still go even further. Join us in our mission to become ‘the university of the future’ — seize the challenge and adventure of working with an organisation where progress never stops. This is your career, reimagined.

The School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences at our Brackenhurst campus is located in a 200-hectare estate near the attractive Minster town of Southwell. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and pro-active administrator to work in the School’s Management Support (SMS) team, based at the Brackenhurst campus. As the SMS Administrator you will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the School’s Leadership team.

We are seeking applicants who are proactive, self-motivated and well-organised. You will be an excellent team player with the proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.  You will be able to operate using your own initiative and professional judgement, and will possess the skill to multitask and complete tasks promptly and accurately.

The ability to establish and develop strong customer-focused working relationships with a range of colleagues, students and external contacts to the University will be essential, as will excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Other requirements include excellent attention to detail, a solution-focused approach to all tasks and experience of using Microsoft Office applications, ideally within an office environment.  Diary management and some experience of minute taking is essential.

Experience of Higher Education and knowledge of the issues affecting the HE sector would be a distinct advantage.

Closing date: Sunday 31st October

Interview Date: Wednesday 10th November
