About you: We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring individual to join the School of Health and Social Wellbeing senior leadership team. The successful candidate will join a visionary school to fulfil our aims and contribute to our continued success, and will be dynamic; adaptable; innovative and creative. Integral to our achievements are activities which enhance the student experience through innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies. The team participate in teaching, assessing and supporting pre and post registration multi-professional learners from across the South West of England. Inclusive of this is supporting learners in practice through our academic in practice teams.

The successful candidate will work across the School holding a key leadership role. Accountable to the Associate Dean for Health, Social Care and Partnerships the role holder will have School wide accountability for Practice and Simulated Learning. Practice learning, simulated placements and simulated learning are a contemporary part of our programme offer and an area for further development tin the school. As part of the School’s Senior Executive team, will lead the development of the School’s values and positive culture and develop and deliver a strategy and plan to address specific issues relevant to the achievement of the School’s key performance indicators.  The School Director for Practice and Simulated Learning will be accountable for outputs and impacts related to Practice and Simulated Learning and ensure alignment with the Faculty and UWE strategy.

Applicants must be registered with a health or social wellbeing regulator. Ideally, individuals will hold a masters degree.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre. Regular bus services link the campus to the main Frenchay site, the city centre and surrounding areas, and nearby Bristol Parkway train station. Home to UWE's Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences , Glenside Campus offers excellent teaching facilities, these include a selection of inter-professional simulation suites, enabling students to practice and develop professional competencies, and one of the best health care libraries in England.
