The world is facing global challenges on a scale not seen before: ill-health, poverty, climate change, energy supply, food security, migration, terrorism. The University of Bradford is dedicated to doing the research needed to understand these problems. We are teaching the next generation of world leaders who will have to find the solutions. We are making an impact and we need your help to tell the world.

The role of Rich Media Officer is pivotal in helping to tell the University of Bradford's story through rich content, such as video, motion graphics, photography, and audio. You will need to be equally as comfortable sniffing out a story and project managing your response to it as you are in production/post production, using software and hardware to craft the work and keep it on brand.

No two days will be the same. You could be jumping between working on large-scale multi-team projects with significant corporate impact to innovative self-directed projects that form a key part of our customers' journey. You could be running across the city with students making vlogs about living in Bradford to send out as part of an email campaign or hanging out in the office trying to co-ordinate access to specialist teaching spaces for an imminent photoshoot.

Regardless of what's on your to-do list, you'll have a keen eye on how the activity will integrate with marketing campaigns and digital channels, and how you can maximise engagement and measure success. You will be just as comfortable behind a camera as you are behind a computer in pre or post, enjoy working with people and directing non-professionals in interviews or shoots, and effectively and independently communicate and plan your ideas and projects.

The role would suit a creative, dynamic audio and visual communicator and team player, excited to deliver on briefs from internal clients, get involved in ideation sessions, and contribute innovation across rich media output. You will be a key player in the Digital & Content team that delivers creative services, campaigns and branding for the University of Bradford, as well as being a member of the award-winning centralised Marketing & Communications department.

Benefits of the role include 21 days holiday and 13 statutory and customary days, flexible working, a university nursery and fitness centre, generous employer contribution pension schemes, a reward scheme for shopping discounts, and a salary sacrifice scheme to assist you in purchasing items like childcare vouchers or a bicycle for commuting.

We're proud to be awarded University of the Year for Social Inclusion 2020 by The Sunday Times and we welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and LGBT+ and non-binary candidates.
