Salary: Grade 7: Salary in range £33,309 - £40,927 per annum
We are seeking to appoint a Researcher in Social Sciences to join Professor Sir Peter Horby’s group, based in the Pandemic Sciences Institute at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
You will be responsible for providing social science and research advice and support to the regional teams and leading on progress management of the case studies. You will also be responsible for organising meetings with the wider stakeholders, including an external reference group, to inform the interpretation and recommendations. You will lead on producing the final report and drafting of publications and Contribute to informing the dissemination strategy. You will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders as well as participating in weekly team meetings and other department team meetings as appropriate.
It is essential that you hold a PhD (or close to completion) in social science, medical anthropology or another health-related discipline. You will have experience in different research methodologies, including qualitative data sets, and have experience in analysing and presenting complex qualitative data. You will have experience in working with a wide range of national and international stakeholders from different disciplines and organisations, and be able to deliver results to the required standard and to an agreed schedule with limited guidance. It is essential that you have an understanding of healthcare systems and challenges in delivering healthcare in different resourced settings, and have an understanding of infectious disease epidemiology and implementation of clinical guidelines. You will be self-motivated and have a strong desire to learn and gain a deep understanding of the work.
