Applications are invited for a** temporary **post of a Research work-flow coordinator within School of Chemistry 1 year.
The Centre for BioNano Interactions (CBNI) is a leading European Centre for BioNano Interaction science, and draws together specialists from international Universities, Institutes, and companies.
The centre is a multi-disciplinary platform for nano engineered biology, nano therapeutics, nano diagnostics, and nano safety and is pioneering many of the new techniques and approaches in the arena. CBNI seeks to set high standards through commitment to excellence in research and innovation, blended with caution and attention to detail in science, and public communication.
The Centre requires a work-flow coordinator that will interface between the administration and the operational scientific level in the laboratory, reporting to, and providing direct administrative support to the Director. While the successful candidate will be an experienced scientist, this is not primarily a research-focused position, and preference will be given to sound scientific, technical and organizational skills.
Other duties include planning, directing and implementing systems, processes and procedures to increase efficiency, productivity and quality in the laboratory, and to set, develop and implement open access/publication/dissemination strategy. It will also be important to support collaborations with other Universities and companies in the network, dealing with timelines, and presenting a highly professional interface to peers elsewhere.
It will be of benefit therefore if the candidate has an experienced authoritative technical and administrative voice, with the capacity to interact well with a wide variety of people from different cultural, business and scientific backgrounds.
This is a very visible role within an extremely busy and challenging environment requiring a self-starter with a strong dynamic and optimistic perspective, and a capacity to complete tasks in a timely manner. Excellent inter-personal skills are essential.
The CALIN project is part-funded by the ERDF through the Ireland Wales Programme 2014-2020.
Salary Scale: €45,000 - €50,000 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on 6th August 2021.
Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified. Any applications which are still in progress at the closing time of 17:00hrs (Local Irish Time) on the specified closing date will be cancelled automatically by the system. UCD are unable to accept late applications.
