Job Summary
Applications are invited for a Research Technician to join the Section for Endocrinology, in the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction at Imperial College London working with Professor Tan and her team. This isan exciting opportunity to join an internationally renowned research group specialising in translational science and drug development trials. A team led by Professor Tricia Tan in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Duties and responsibilities
- The post holder will participate in research investigating the development of novel peptide therapeutics for the treatment of diabetes and obesity.
- We require a focused candidate to support the head of section and project manager with testing novel compounds, pre-clinical safety assessments, preparation and submission of regulatory documents to enable clinical trials, and day to day management of technical research staff.

Essential requirements
- Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in biochemistry or a relevant life science subject (2:1 or higher), or equivalent laboratory experience. A postgraduate qualification or vocational qualification.
- Practical experience within a research environment and a minimum of 2 years employment in a related science field are essential. Proven experience in cell culture, Homogeneous Time Resolved Fluorescence assays, Radioimmunoassay, Pharmacological and physiological studies, invivo studies and excellent laboratory and organisational skills are all essential for this role.
- The post holder will be required to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Further Information
This post is a full time, fixed contract for 12 months in the first instance based at Hammersmith Hospital Campus (East Acton).
