This full-time Research Technician in Biosciences is available immediately until 31 December 2024, to provide technical support for an Industry funded research project in fourth generation biofuels.  The post-holder will work in the laboratory of Professor John Love at the Streatham campus of Exeter University.

Summary of the role

We are looking for a talented and self-motivated individual with a degree in molecular or synthetic biology or biochemistry to join our team as a research technician.  The successful candidate will integrate a multi-disciplinary team to perform a range of key technical duties, supporting the academic PI, researchers, students and visiting partners from industry. 

The duties are varied, and include media preparation, consumables orders and inventory, routine maintenance of the laboratory equipment, nucleic acid purification, high throughput microbiology and molecular cloning, and maintenance/management of high-throughput and automated workflows.  Opportunities for further professional development may be considered as part of Exeter University’s professional development programme.  In addition to technical experience, the ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills and a collaborative and inquisitive personality.
