Summary of the role
We need a talented individual to support our research. This fixed term 0.5 FTE role is available from 1st September 2024 to 30th April 2027. Working as part of the Tschirren group in Technical Services the role holder provides direct support to research activities in the Tschirren group at the Centre for Ecology & Conservation.
The main purpose of the role is to plan and conduct molecular laboratory analyses and sample processing for a NERC-funded research project. The Research Technician will manage the molecular laboratory, keeping stock of consumables and carrying out orders. They will plan, carry out and support molecular laboratory analyses and sample processing, including DNA extraction, PCR / qPCR, KASP sequencing, library preparation for NGS and 16S sequencing, and contribute to data analysis.
