Can you perform technically demanding tasks with care and precision to support research projects? Do you have a strong interest in cardiovascular research and a working knowledge of bench work?

You will provide technical support to research work focusing on the biophysical properties, regulation and inter-relationships of Piezo1, a mechanically-activated ion channel, in vascular endothelial cells.

Your focus will be to reliably prepare freshly-isolated endothelial cells on a regular basis. In addition, you will carry out routine molecular and cell biology techniques, creating and expressing mutant piezo1 proteins in cultured mammalian cells. You should be willing to work with murine models and will need experience of dealing with, or the ability to learn, Schedule 1 and other basic murine handling techniques within Home Office guidelines. You will be working in an interdisciplinary cardiovascular research institute with state-of-the-art equipment. The research group is devoted to world-class research in a friendly and helpful atmosphere.
