Duties and Responsibilities
The Centre for Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry (CRC) is a multidisciplinary academic unit that develops and distributes imaging biomarkers for the advancement of medical research and healthcare. The position will involve Quality Control (QC) analysis of positron emission tomography (PET) tracers according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). You will be expected to develop analytical procedures using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC), be responsible for quality control of PET tracers and other products according to GMP regulations, and to write technical procedures and documentation.
This post is funded until 31 December 2023 in the first instance.
Key Requirements
The post requires a BSc (2.2 or higher) or higher degree in chemistry, natural sciences or pharmacology, and excellent laboratory skills. The successful candidate must have expert knowledge of analytical chemistry, and experience with HPLC. Previous experience working under GMP, and with radioactivity, is desirable.
You must be able to develop, write and follow standardised technical procedures for analytical quality control of GMP products, to work calmly and safely under pressure, and to work to a high level of cleanliness.
