We are looking for a talented and highly motivated researcher technician to evaluate immune cells in samples from pancreatic cancer patients.

The project aims to characterise immune cells present in the blood and tissues of pancreatic cancer patients before, during and after chemotherapy treatment by mass cytometry and immunohistochemistry and to establish a precision cut tumour slice model to investigate the tumour microenvironment. The project also involves analysis of FFPE tissue samples by immunohistochemistry and proteomics.

The position requires experience in the precision cut slice model, flow and/or mass cytometry analysis and immunohistochemistry.

You will join a vibrant cancer research laboratory which is part of the Department of Molecular and Clinical Cancer Medicine, and the Institute of Systems, Molecular & Integrative Biology (ISMIB), University of Liverpool, UK. ISMIB offers a number of high-quality shared facilities, which will be used to complete the project. You will interact and collaborate with scientists and clinicians with diverse backgrounds inside and outside the department and take part in research activities that include cancer biology and the analysis of patient samples.

You should have a master's degree in Biomedical sciences or a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences and some previous experience working in the lab as a technician.

The post is available on a fixed term basis, starting on 1 October 2024 and end on 31 August 2025 (but could be extended upon availability of funding).
