The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is seeking to appoint an experienced Research Support Officer/ Manager for its Mass Spectrometry Facility. Members of the facility are expected to collaborate with other groups in the LMB in addressing major research problems, develop and implement cutting-edge mass spectrometry methods, and provide a high-quality service to all users including appropriate support and training.

The level of appointment will depend on technical expertise and experience. Applicants with suitable technical expertise for this post will be considered for Band 4, whereas applicants with extensive experience and management capabilities could be considered for Band 3.

The LMB is a world-class institute that applies a wide range of methods and techniques to address fundamental problems in molecular and cellular biology. Candidates should have PhD in a relevant biological subject or equivalent experience gained through working in a MS laboratory, including basic and advanced MS sample handling and processing protocols, and familiarity with instrument maintenance requirements.
