About the opportunity

The Research Support Assistant performs general administrative and clerical duties including data entry, drafting standard documents, record keeping, updating web materials, and responding to routine queries. This role requires sound administrative and organisational skills in order to coordinate and undertake a range of operational activities on a day to day basis.

The Research Support Assistant is responsible for maintaining the research component of the FMH website, which includes up-to-date information on our researchers and their current research activities. The role will collect and classify research publications for display and reporting purposes; assist to administer internal grants and awards schemes; and work closely with the Research Support Lead, Research Support Officers and Research Administration Officers to ensure a continuity of service and advice to FMH staff and students.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • assist with the categorisation of publications for reporting purposes
  • support the submission of accurate corporate data and correction of data quality issues in systems such as IRMA and other Faculty based systems
  • assist researchers with the development and maintenance of their academic profiles
  • maintain records and reporting for the Research Support Unit
  • assist with the organisation of seminars, information sessions and workshops
  • assist with internal grants and award schemes
  • manage data entry, drafting standard documents, record keeping and updating the FMH web site, its content and supporting research materials

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or exposure to University and health environments is highly desirable
  • has experience in using University data management/entry systems and knowledgeable of qualitative and quantitative analysis methodologies
  • has experience working in a research environment
  • experience using Research Profile Management, Sydney Student, IRMA and Content Management System would be highly advantageous
  • has experience collating data for eligible research publications in line with Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA)
  • has adept computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • can demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in data entry processes
  • has excellent communication skills both written and oral and capable of prioritising workloads and problem solving as part of normal daily work.
