This Position provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced research scientist to contribute to the UKRI funded Living Coasts project. Living Coasts is an ambitious and exciting initiative that is investigating how Earth observation data can be used to inform proactive planning of coastal zones such that short to long-term needs and requirements of humans and nature can be better addressed and the contributions of existing and planned landscape components (including blue carbon coastal ecosystems) optimised. The Living Coasts Team includes partners from Australia (CSIRO, Geoscience Australia, Newcastle University) and the United Kingdom (Aberystwyth University). The successful candidate will require high level skills in analysing Earth observation data within big data processing systems, noting that implementation will be undertaken within an open data cube environment.
