Bangor University is seeking to appoint a Research Officer to its Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation (CHEME). Applications are invited from post-doctoral researchers with an existing track record of research, to join the Pharmaceutical Economics, Policy and Prescribing Research (PEPPER) group within CHEME.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for career development and progression, with the successful candidate gaining experience in methodological and applied research in health economic evaluation. The post will focus on the economics of mRNA and siRNA technologies for the management of Crohn’s disease, as part of the Horizon Europe/UKRI-funded GENEGUT project (https://genegut.eu/ ).

Applications are welcome from candidates with a PhD (or MSc and applicable research experience) in health economics or a related discipline. The candidate will have good inter-personal skills, be adept at working within project teams, and have an enthusiasm for multidisciplinary research. CHEME is one of the UK’s leading health economics research unit, with a portfolio of research projects in the areas of pharmaceutical economics and policy, economic evaluation alongside clinical trials, and methodological research.

The 2021 Research Excellence Framework indicated that 95% of our research is internationally-excellent or world-leading, and placed us 9th out of 89 institutions in terms of 3* and 4* outputs. The successful candidate to start as soon as possible for a 3-year, fixed-term period. *An extension beyond this will be dependent on research funding being awarded to the post holder and the research centre.

Through our Dynamic Working framework , there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
