Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the title of Project Manager) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 508646), to commence on January 1, 2022 for 32 months on a fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess at least a Master’s degree in Education or related field, or preferably a doctoral degree in Education, with at least 10 years of work experience in the education field (including experience in educational research and project management, curriculum development and pedagogy, teacher development and training, catering for learning diversity etc.).  They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; strong leadership, management, interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills; the ability to multitask, work independently and in a team; excellent time management; and analytical thinking. They should also be highly motivated, dedicated, proactive, responsible, resourceful, collegial, and attentive to details.  Preference will be given to those with experience in working with schools and teachers, promotion and dissemination, and project management, implementation and evaluation.  Those with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and/or teaching experience in local contexts, and publications record are preferred.

The appointee will work on a large-scale project on learner diversity.  He/She will report to the project leader and assist project team heads in leading the development and operations of the project in an educational setting.  He/She will be responsible for providing managerial assistance to the project leader in overseeing the project implementation and evaluation; planning and executing educational marketing strategies on different channels to promote the project; ensuring consistent and effective communication of the project’s brand and positioning; preparing promotional and dissemination events and materials, managing social media / newsletter platform, and working with agencies and freelancers; coordinating with different teams to ensure smooth project implementation and dissemination and to maintain a good network of project school stakeholders; assisting in monitoring and evaluating project implementation and impact; overseeing daily operations; performing other duties as assigned by supervisor(s). A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
