Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Nurse within School of Agriculture and Food Science.

Food for Health Ireland (FHI; www.fhi.ie) is a centre for functional food development funded by Enterprise Ireland and members of the Irish Food Industry. FHI combines expertise from a number of national institutes including University College Dublin, Teagasc and others. This research nurse position will be located at University College Dublin.

A part-time research nurse is sought to join Food for Health Ireland to support ongoing human intervention studies. The research will focus on conducting human studies to examine the impact of consumption of food, nutrients and food-bioactives on markers of health and disease. The successful candidate will be involved in a number of human studies. The candidate will be expected to cannulate, collect and process blood samples, as well as contribute to other tasks such as preparation for study days, inventory & ordering and data entry, data managements and other relevant duties. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to management aspects of the project, supporting the lead researcher in the management of the team and work undertaken. Flexibility is required for the role and the candidate would need to be available to work mornings, as well as some weekends to accommodate fasting blood sample collections.

Fixed salary: €50,000 per annum (pro-rata)
