Research Manager

About the role

The Department of Social Policy and Intervention is seeking a Research Manager to join and help lead a research group on quantitative and qualitative research on violence against children with responsibility for managing and coordinating data collection, analysis, and dissemination for the Safe Schools study (a mixed methods study and cluster RCT to prevent violence against children in schools) and other relevant projects related to violence against children. 

About you

You will have an MSc degree in Epidemiology, Public Health or Social Science with a mixed methods or quantitative social science, or equivalent experience, and be working toward a doctorate in a specialist discipline. You will have at least 3 years of experience in research on violence against children, child protection or child health issues including ethics and safeguarding issues and have managed complex research projects, including with randomised designs, with experience in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation. You will have experience working with partner organisations to conduct research and you will be able to travel for 2-3 months a year for fieldwork and research management.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team, you will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. You will also have relevant computer/analytical skills in Stata or R, Nvivo, and MS Office

You will be based in Oxford as your normal place of work however there is opportunity for remote working.
