NIHR BioResource for Translational Research (NIHR BioResource) is recruiting a Research Laboratory Technician to assist the Research Laboratory Manager in the day to day operation of the Rare Disease RNA Phenotyping research laboratory.

NIHR BioResource is a unique and powerful resource for studying disease mechanisms and for investigating the links between genes, the environment, health and disease, enabling scientific discoveries as well as facilitating translational medicine for the benefit of patients.
The goal of the NIHR BioResource Rare Disease project is to drive forward diagnosis and gene discovery for patients with rare genetic diseases.

The role will be responsible for processing time-sensitive biological samples for projects ensuring that high quality data is obtained, targets are met on time and that all data is entered into the appropriate databases, whilst making sure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with EU and UK Statutory requirements and principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Candidates should have experience that is relevant to the post, including practical experience of laboratory technician/biological scientific research work, knowledge of the appropriate regulations and best practice and a high degree of precision and accuracy.

This appointment is full-time, 36.5 hours per week.
NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) as part of a 5 year funding cycle. The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2022 in the first instance. A further 5 years of NIHR funding will be dependent on our successful application for renewal.
Our offices are on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, CB2 0QQ (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre). Work - life balance is important, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and we are open to discussion on flexible working.
