Moray House School of Education & Sport is seeking a part-time UE07 Research Impact and Engagement Manager (0.6 FTE) to provide high-level support to the organisation and development of knowledge exchange and impact activities across the School.

We are open to considering flexible working patterns and requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis), combining a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. This role will work across minimum 3 days per week with a Tuesday anchor day on campus to allow close working relationships with the team.

The Opportunity:

This role is one of two part-time Research Impact and Engagement Manager roles. Working in close collaboration, with separate research area portfolios, the post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for research impact and research communications, identifying opportunities for staff to use and disseminate their research in public and commercial spaces.

They will lead on the design and development of processes, guidance and projects regarding the external communication of research, knowledge exchange and impact activities and oversee the co-ordination of knowledge exchange activity across the research communities in MHSES.

They will develop and deliver integrated communication activities to share knowledge and awareness of the School’s internationally-leading research and impact, devising and implementing best practice across the research support structures and communities.

They will be proactive in advocating a positive, supportive research culture in the School.

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of academic research, HE policy, and issues around engagement and impact
  • Excellent written communication skills and experience of producing e.g. reports or documents to a high standard
  • Experience of contributing to writing or evidencing impact case studies e.g. for REF or evidencing impact for funders.
  • High level of initiative, excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively translate and communicate research to a range of audiences
