The Cell Biology Division of the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), a research institute within UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), invites applications for a tenure-track Group Leader position. We seek someone addressing fundamental questions in cell or tissue biology or developing methods relevant to these topics. The cell biology of specialised cell types in their native context is one area of particular interest, but the primary selection criteria are scientific excellence and potential for synergy with our existing research programmes. You should hold a PhD and have an excellent publication record with outstanding potential for independent research.
The position comes with funding sufficient to run a small research group and free access to core facilities. The LMB has an exceptional record of ground-breaking research and is housed in a modern building with outstanding facilities including those for light and electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, and electronic and mechanical workshops.

The salary for this post is £52,877- £65,348 per annum commensurate with experience. The salary will be supported by a defined benefit pension scheme, excellent holiday entitlement (40 ½ days including bank holidays and privilege days) and Benenden Healthcare membership. The LMB is located in Cambridge, UK, and is part of a vibrant scientific community that includes the University of Cambridge teaching hospitals, industry, and other research institutes.
