Applications are invited for a Research Grants Administrator to work in the joint administration team supporting the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) and the Department of Haematology. The Institute is a world-leading centre for stem cell research with a mission to transform human health through a deep understanding of stem and progenitor cell biology (http://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk).The Department of Haematology is one of 11 departments and 7 Institutes within the School of Clinical Medicine (SCM) http://www.haem.cam.ac.uk/ .

This role is based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The post holder will be responsible for managing research grants for the CSCI and Haematology. CSCI and Haematology jointly has a total grant income of more than £150M and has approximately 450 staff and students. This role will support researchers in the grant application process, providing advice on funding schemes and procedures. This includes costing and submitting applications using X5, in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. The post holder will also support the management of research grants during the entire project lifecycle, including project accounting reporting and audits.

A suitable candidate will be educated to at least HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualification or an equivalent level of practical experience. They should have grant administrative or finance experience, ideally in a university setting. Candidates should be an experienced user of Microsoft Office and have a working knowledge of grant or financial management software/systems (e.g. X5 & CUFS). They should be flexible, with the ability to communicate at all levels and be well-organised so as to manage conflicting deadlines.
