We are looking for an international research funding focused advisor to a permanent position.

About the position

As a research funding advisor, you will be part of the Research Services on-site team, responsible for specialist services in research funding for the humanities and social sciences at the University of Helsinki’s City Centre Campus. You will provide support and advice for improving the quality of funding applications and help in drawing up funding agreements. You will both develop funding application procedures and collaborate with funders. The position also entails the conduct of communications and provision of training related to research funding. In addition, you will support the leadership of faculties and units in planning the application procedure for research funding and contribute to drafting strategies for competitive research funding.

We hope that you will be able to start in the position no later than the beginning of March 2023. At the beginning of the term, the appointee’s salary will range between €3,800 and €4,100 per month, depending on their qualifications and previous work experience.

About you

You are interested in working at the boundary of research and research administration, and in developing services in support of research and their associated processes. You get along well with a diverse range of people and are a proficient presenter. You are capable of working alone carefully and systematically at your own initiative. You are goal-oriented and your attitude towards service is focused on solutions.

You have a master’s degree, preferably in a field that supports campus operations. A doctoral degree, familiarity with the university sphere and research funders, administrative experience and good IT skills are considered assets. You are able to communicate in our international environment using fluent English, both in writing and orally. Finnish skills are also considered an advantage in the position.
