Research and Innovation Services provides support and services for our academics working across the research and innovation life cycle with a focus on applying for and managing funding, and providing professional advice on collaborations and contracts.

The directorate is comprised of four teams; Award Services, Contract Services, Planning, Insight and Improvement, and Compliance and Assurance, who all work together to deliver a service to support, advise and provide expertise to our academic community for our extensive and varied portfolio of externally funded projects.

Award Services provides a range specialist advice to UCL's externally funded research and innovation portfolio through the departments of: Research Support & Development (Pre-award); European Research and Innovation Office; Research Finance and Compliance (Post-award). The service is delivered in partnership with academic and professional services colleagues across UCL, collaborating organisations, and funders.

About the role

This is a great opportunity to learn about research post-award function in a research-intensive environment by getting involved in different aspects across the spectrum of tasks. You will provide a comprehensive and high quality post award management service to the rest of the post-award team to ensure financial reporting to funders is compliant with funders' terms and conditions.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the work is conducted to the highest possible standards of accuracy, timeliness and to the satisfaction of all key stakeholders.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

About you

You will be willing to learn about post-award research funding or have already experience of financial management in a higher education context. You will have good knowledge of using financial programmes like Oracle and/or Microsoft Excel programme. Good organisational skills and excellent communication is also essential.
