Department of Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology
Salary: £40,611 to £46,119 per annum, inclusive.

We are seeking to recruit a Research Fellow to conduct epidemiological studies examining the long-term direct and indirect impacts of coronavirus. The successful applicant will conduct analyses using the OpenSAFELY platform which is running across the electronic health records of 55 million patients in England. The postholder will collaborate closely with partners across the UK and internationally, and contribute to a close and friendly team working as part of a large collaborative project through the National Core Studies Research Programme. OpenSAFELY is a highly secure, modular, opensource data analysis platform, combining best practice from both academia and the open-source software community. There is an unprecedented volume of data which will provide significant opportunities to generate high-quality, high-impact research.
The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in Epidemiology using routine care data, (or equivalent) and expertise in complex epidemiological analysis using routine data, analysed with Stata/R/Python or similar. Further particulars are included in the job description.
The post is full-time and offered initially for 18 months with the possibility of an extension. Part-time applications will be considered.
The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £40,611 - £46,119 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
