We are seeking a Research Fellow to work on the HCV combination prevention project in people who inject drugs and prisoners (HepC3P). The HepC3P project will generate evidence on innovative interventions including long acting depot buprenorphine (an opioid agonist therapy) and low-dead space syringes to prevent hepatitis C. Although this post is based in London, travel to project sites including Ukraine, Nigeria, Vietnam, South Africa and India will be necessary. The consortium is led by Path with Population Services International (PSI), LSHTM and the University of Bristol.

You will support the evaluation by developing country-level protocols, designing research instruments, supporting data collection and undertaking statistical analyses of prospective cohort data and routine programmatic data.

The post-holder will need to have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic, evidence of good organizational skills, including effective time management, and experience and demonstrated expertise in quantitative or survey research experience involving primary data collection or analyses of existing datasets (e.g. health service records or programmatic data). The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and fixed term for two years. The post is funded by UNITAID and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947 - £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
