The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.

The primary purpose of The Vaccine Confidence Project (VCP) is to support public confidence in immunization programs by building an information surveillance system for early monitoring and detection to better understand and address public concerns around vaccines.

The principle responsibility of the post holder will be quantitative data analysis for our global study on healthcare professionals’ (HCPs) views and attitudes towards vaccination. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of HCPs’ views and attitudes towards vaccination on their willingness to recommend vaccination to their patients. The study will collect data through surveys with 1,200 HCPs (GPs, pediatricians, nurses and midwives) across 12 countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK).

We will acquire our vaccine and attitudinal survey data in collaboration with Orb International (Gallup International) [ORB] a global polling organization that we have extensive experience with. The post holder will liaise with ORB to process survey data and perform a broad suite of quantitative analyses, including ordinal regression models. The post-holder will contribute to preparing reports and academic publications.

The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree in epidemiology, statistics, mathematics, or public health and relevant experience in survey design, including using electronic survey and data tools. Further particulars are included in the job description.

We are looking for immediate hire, so it is essential that you could begin working ASAP.

The post is full time and fixed-term until 31 July 2022 with possibility of an extension depending on funding availability.

The salary will be on the Academic pathways Grade 6 in the range £40,011 to £45,437 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
