The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to work in the thriving laboratory of Professor Serge Mostowy. 

The successful applicant will carry out laboratory research on microbiology and cell biology and prepare manuscripts for submission to scientific journals. The work will involve biochemical, molecular, genetic and cell biological approaches and would suit an individual with a background in molecular cell biology.

The successful applicant will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic, relevant experience in microscopy, practical experience in a broad range of techniques that apply to microscopy including image acquisition, image analysis, computer programming, ImageJ, deconvolution softwares. The post is full-time and funded by the European Research Council (ERC) from 1st May 2024 to 31st March 2025. Salary is on the Academic Grade 6 scale in the range £43,947- £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
