Full time, fixed term contract for up to 3 years

Applications are invited for a full-time Research Fellow to join Dr Lisa Hill, Dr Hannah Botfield and Professor Alastair Denniston, together with external academic and industrial partners, to develop effective, safe, drop based therapies for sight-threatening diseases, including Age-related Macular Degeneration. This translational research project will bring together our drug delivery technologies with new highly targeted immunotherapeutics, which will be assessed by in-vitro, ex-vivo and in-vivo modelling of ocular disease. The candidate will be part of an integrative and multi-disciplinary team of national researchers and clinicians working collaboratively to deliver the project.

We would expect you to have a PhD in the area of Physiology and Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience or Ophthalmology. Understanding of research together with experience of applying the relevant laboratory skills and techniques, is essential. That includes experience with performing and analysing cell culture, ex-vivo modelling, in-vivo modelling, ELISA, RT-PCR and immunoassays.
