Duties and Responsibilities
This exciting opportunity is jointly based in the UCL Centre for Medical Image Computing and the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy in the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, including the Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy. The post holder will work on developing and optimising magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) acquisition methods and/or image analysis tools for epilepsy studies. This will include group studies to investigate imaging characteristics of people with epilepsy and the development of subject-specific analyses to be used within the routine radiological and neurological examinations, as well as presurgical planning in patients being evaluated for surgery. The successful applicant will be part of a multidisciplinary team spanning computer science, MRI physics and clinical and translational research. 
The post is available immediately and is funded by a grant from the NIHR for two years in the first instance, with possibility of renewal for up to a further two years.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate is likely to have an honours degree and PhD in a subject relevant to MRI-based methodological and/or translational research. They will have experience of MRI data analysis, have practical programming experience (e.g. Matlab, Python, C++,), and have experience with statistical analysis techniques and software. 
A w orking knowledge of Linux or Unix-based systems and experience of teaching / supervising students is an essential requirement at grade 8. As the post spans UCL’s central London campus and the Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy in Buckinghamshire, the successful candidate will be expected to spend time at each location on a routine basis.
