The School of Pharmacy at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.

The postholder will further refine a screening cascade for the identification of protease inhibitors by optimising protease protein expression and developing several assays to identify and exclude nonspecific compounds.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in biochemistry, cell/molecular biology, or a related discipline.
  • Have relevant research experience and extensive knowledge of routine biochemical, and cell/molecular biological techniques such as tissue culture, Western blotting, protease/enzyme activity assays, and recombinant protein production.
  • Hold a publication record commensurate with stage of career.

This post is available on a fixed term contract for 12 months or available until 31 January 2025, whichever is sooner.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
