The Centre for Public Health, School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to recruit a Research Fellow. 

The successful candidate will become a member of the GroundsWell research team working with Dr Leandro Garcia and Prof Ruth Hunter. The programme of research is focused on developing agent-based models to inform systems transformations of urban green and blue spaces for the prevention of non-communicable disease and reduction of inequalities in the UK.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Have, or about to obtain*, a PhD in public health, epidemiology, computer science, biostatistics, engineering, geography, urban planning, or a related area (*must be obtained within 3 months of the closing date for the post).
  • Specific, relevant experience of development of agent-based models of human populations, including modelling of inequalities.
  • Demonstrated experience working in public health, health behaviours, or urban health.
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within the established research programme.
  • Publications commensurate with career stage.

This post is available on a fixed term contract for 16 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
