Full time starting salary for Research Fellow is normally £33,809 per annum

Full time starting salary for Research Assistant is normally £25,110 per annum

The Centre for Structures, Assembly and Intelligent Automation welcomes applications from researchers with knowledge of metrology and / or automation. The Centre brings together aircraft structural and assembly engineers, automation experts and human factors specialists. It has significant experience in the development of advanced automation systems.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Research Fellow or Research Assistant to join the team to support the ATI / Airbus Digital Assembly for Wing (DAWN) project. We are currently developing an integrated digital metrology environment to link complex metrology data both locally generated and from the supply chain to control complex assembly processes.

About You

We are looking for an individual to join the team with good software skills and a knowledge of metrology and / or automation. You will need to have good project management skills as well as taking a ‘hands on’ approach to the development of technology. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject is essential for these posts. You will also ideally hold a relevant PhD (Research Fellow level), but exceptionally candidates with a Masters’ Degree and appropriate relevant experience may be considered (Research Assistant level).
