The School of Pharmacy at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.
The postholder will be an active member within the Ocular Drug Delivery research group in the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University Belfast. The Research Fellow will be the active member of the spinout company, Re-Vana Therapeutics, a preclinical stage company focused on developing innovative long-acting drug delivery systems. The Research Fellow will be assisting in the design, development, and evaluation of long-acting drug delivery systems for therapeutics so that the overall project objectives are met.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
- 2:1 Honours Degree or equivalent in pharmacy, polymer science, chemistry, or pharmaceutical chemistry.
- Have or about to obtain* a PhD in pharmacy, drug delivery, or pharmaceutics. (*must be obtained within 3 months of starting).
- Substantial experience in development and testing of controlled release formulations.
- Experience in analytical method development and validation (e.g. HPLC, SEC-HPLC, RP-HPLC).
- Experience in characterisation techniques such as thermal analysis (e.g., TGA, DSC) and chemical analysis (e.g., FTIR, UV).
- Experience of supervising research projects.

This post is available on a fixed term contract available until 31 December 2024. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
