Research Fellow: Novel Antenna R&D Engineer

Duration: This post is available on a fixed term contract for 36 months, or available until 31/12/2027, whichever is sooner.  Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.

Hours: Full-time

Salary: £37,841 - £40,134 per annum

The Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI), in EEECS, at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.

The post holder will be a highly productive, ambitious and collaborative member of a tri-party USA-Ireland project exploring ‘Highly efficient magnetoelectric nano-antennas’’, funded by the Department of Economy, UK, in partnership with Tyndall National Institute, Ireland and University of Utah, USA. 

The Research Fellow will lead research in the development and characterisation of novel antenna structures and new materials and become an active member of the Centre for Wireless Innovation and the School of EEECS at QUB, assisting in the production of world leading research output.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

• Have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline.

• Research experience in EM related antennas and propagation field.

• Experience in designing novel microwave antennas with strong focus on physical measurement characterisation.

• Evidence of strong publication record commensurate with stage of career.
