Are you an experienced researcher in quantum chemical dynamics and its applications to chemistry? Do you have knowledge of experiments which address the chemistry of electronically excited states? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?

This position will be funded via recently awarded EPSRC programme grant COSMOS, which is focused on further development of Coherent State based methods of Quantum Dynamics. Accurate simulations of many processes in chemistry require computation methods capable of treating many quantum degrees of freedom.

COSMOS is a collaboration of 6 UK universities. In Leeds we will focus on implementation of ab initio Multiple Cloning method and other techniques developed here in the QUANTICS code. We will apply new software to real world chemical problems which include excited electronic states such as photodissociation. We will also try to expand the methodology originally developed for chemical dynamics to the realm of physics, trying to use similar methods for simulating of large systems coupled cubits, and ensembles of quantum particles, which will remain a very difficult problem until quantum computers are developed.

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
