1759-22 - Research Fellow in RNA Biology / Virology

The Burgess group is seeking a motivated post-doctoral research fellow to investigate RNA regulation in virus:host interactions. This exciting NIH-funded project focuses on the role of circular RNAs in infection and immunity using Herpes Simplex 1 (HSV-1) as a model infection. The project will combine a range of sophisticated RNA approaches and established virology techniques to illuminate the importance of this newly characterized RNA type in infection.

You will be joining a new research team and a growing vibrant virology research section situated at the University of Surrey’s Stag Hill campus in Guildford, 35 minutes south of London by train.

You must have, or expect to shortly obtain, a PhD in the life sciences and have relevant laboratory experience. Candidates with backgrounds in RNA biology, innate immunity or virology are encouraged to apply.

The position is available immediately with a fixed-term of 1 year initially, with the possibility of extension. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Hannah Burgess ([email protected] ) to discuss the position prior to application.
