Role Description
About the Role
This post will be contributing to research activities for an exciting new project and specifically to support the Centre for Computational Engineering Sciences. The focus will be on multi-physics modelling, design of experiments through the development and application of state-of-the-art modelling methods for landing gear shock absorber systems to achieve the project objectives.
About You
You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject (or close to completion of your PhD), with the necessary technical knowledge and experience with a strong track record of developing and applying computational fluid dynamics models, competent user of at least one programming languages (Fortran/Python/C/C++), experience in using and developing open-source CFD software, experience in pre-processing (CAD, Mesh generation), and post-processing (Paraview, Tecplot, Visit,Matlab) software packages, as well as experience of using national HPC facilities for massively parallel simulations. A good track record of publishing at international peer-reviewed journals, and conference proceedings is desirable. With excellent communication skills, you will be a good team player, enjoy presenting, and can cope with pressure. Project planning is also an important skill for this post and successful applicants will be able to demonstrate self-motivation, perseverance, and initiative.
