About the Role

In order to explore and develop self-sustainable Multi-Carrier Local Energy Communities, we are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow. As a member of this team, you will contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at developing innovative solutions for energy distribution and management within local communities. A strong background in power and energy systems as well as expertise in the integration, optimization, and control of multi-carrier energy systems encompassing EVs and vehicle-to-grid systems are required. In addition to having a strong background and proven research experience in storage systems and vehicle-to-everything technologies, candidates should possess data-driven modeling, analysis, and decision making skills, as well as advanced optimization algorithms, focusing on increasing the flexibility of local energy communities. Applicants are required to possess a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, economics, or a similar engineering-oriented discipline, as well as proficiency in programming languages such as Python and knowledge of relevant libraries and frameworks. Expertise in developing innovative algorithms for optimizing local energy communities is essential, as is the ability to evaluate the economic, environmental, and social effects of proposed designs. The ideal candidate should be committed to research and knowledge transfer, as well as possess a practical mindset for developing innovative solutions. This position requires strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and communication skills in English, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. This is an exciting externally funded position within NTU-GridLab.
