Reseach Assistant: Starting salary is normally £25,110 per annum or Research Fellow: Starting salary is normally £33,809 per annum


We welcome applications for this exciting new Research Fellow post. The work undertaken in this role will support a project that will deliver major impact through development of novel design methods and tools. These methods and tools will be utilised to conceptualise and assess next generation aircraft and propulsion systems using alternative fuels and configured to achieve zero carbon emission in flight.  

About the Role

This post will be contributing to research on a project as part of a large team.  It involves research activities within the Centre for Propulsion, especially focusing on the development and application of novel methods and tools to undertake design and assessment of novel integrated propulsion technologies configurations utilising alternative fuels.

About You

To be appointed at Research Fellow level, you will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject (or close to completion of your PhD), with the necessary technical knowledge and experience. Alternatively, you may be considered for a role as Research Assistant, provided you have a relevant Masters’ level degree & required knowledge and skills. You will have experience in composing project deliverables, delivering effective presentations, and be able to assist in project integration workshops and other meetings.  With excellent communication skills, you will also be a good team player, and have the ability to cope with pressure. Project planning is also an important skill for this post along with the ability to demonstrate self-motivation, perseverance, and initiative.
