Research Fellow in Industrial Psychology / Human Factors

Fixed Term Contract for 2 years

Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £37,337 to £39,316 per annum depending on experience.

Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire

We welcome applications from skilled and motivated post-doctoral researchers with experience in Psychology / Ergonomics / Human Factors to join our team and work on exciting research projects to enhance the interactions between people and robots in work environments.

About the Role

The Centre for Robotics and Assembly is seeking a post-doctoral Research Fellow to work in its Industrial Psychology and Human Factors research group. This role will primarily involve working as part of a multidisciplinary team on an exciting European research project, AI-PRISM, to conduct human analysis which will advance the design of human-robot production systems. The role will also involve wider academic contributions and opportunities in teaching and student supervision, publications, grant proposal preparation, etc.

About You

You will be educated to doctoral level in a Psychology / Human Factors / Social Science topic (or very close to completion) with experience and demonstrated competence in research design / methods and qualitative and quantitative analysis. Your knowledge must be acquired from formal Psychology / Human Factors education and training (with knowledge of human-robot interactions ideally). You will also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both orally and in written work, a cooperative working style, and an enthusiasm to learn and share new knowledge.  Preferably you will have experience in some cross-disciplinary and collaborative working, along with planning & project management skills.
