Research Fellow in Health Economics and Evidence Synthesis

We are seeking a motivated early career health economist to work mainly on the economic components of team-based health technology assessment (HTA) projects commissioned under our NIHR Technology Assessment Reviews (TAR) programme. This work informs National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) decisions about which new drugs and technologies are approved for use in the NHS. There will also be opportunities to contribute to economic evaluations and quantitative syntheses across CRD research programmes. This may include decision analytic modelling and statistical analysis including parametric survival modelling, network meta-analysis and analysis of individual participant data.

Required skills, experience & qualification

  • Masters-level qualification in health economics
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of health economics and cost-effectiveness analysis and experience of economic evaluation, including applying quantitative methods and decision analytic modelling
  • Good knowledge of HTA methods and research techniques and statistical methods used in applied economic evaluation; good understanding of clinical trial methods and of the principles of systematic review and meta-analysis
  • Experience of undertaking high quality health-related research
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and with stakeholders

This is a full-time position, but we will also consider applicants who wish to work part-time.
