Salary
Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £33,809 per annum to £37,684 per annum, with potential progression up to £47,105 per annum
We welcome applications from passionate, skilled, committed, prospective research fellows to join our team in the Future of Flight 3 Project to contribute to the modelling and analysis of vertiport capacity, involving crewed and un-crewed flights, connectivity to terrestrial airport access infrastructure, artificial intelligence, secure data chain and digital twin building.
About the Role
We are recruiting for a research fellow to support vertiport capacity modelling under the umbrella of our general research vector of autonomous and intelligent systems in digital aviation and advanced air mobility and particularly under the Future of Flight funding programme. As Research Fellow you will contribute to the research activities of the Centre for Autonomous and Cyberphysical Systems and the Centre for Air Transport Management. You will be expected to collaborate with the existing staff working in the area and have communications and meetings with our collaborators within the university and industry partners from Atkins and Skyports.
About You
You will be educated to doctoral level (or be close to completion) in a relevant subject and have experience of management research using both qualitative and quantitative methods, with a proven record of publishing or disseminating research outcomes in high quality conferences or academic journals. With excellent communication skills, you will have expertise in simulation modelling or the design and validation of digital algorithms, along with practical experience in computational models, preferably in the aerospace or air transport context. Domain of CAST simulation software would be an advantage.’
