Role Description

We welcome applications from prospective post-doctoral Research Fellow to work on the Future Flight Challenge: Air Mobility Ecosystem Consortium (AMEC) project. This role will primarily require scheduling and resource management optimisation research in our air/unmanned traffic management (ATM/UTM) studies but will also involve wider contributions and activities, including teaching and PhD/MSc student supervision.

About the Role

You will be expected to perform relevant research work, mainly including (1) research design and methodology development; (2) simulation module development; (3) data collection and analysis; and (4) formal reporting and dissemination of findings via oral presentations and written reports.

You will be also expected to authorise and submit academic articles to high quality journals for publication and dissemination. Contributions to academic supervision (both MSc and PhD students) and teaching, and research funding application activities.

About You

You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject and have research experience in air traffic management (ATM), unmanned traffic management (UTM), and/or operational research, with a strong track record in peer-reviewed publications. You will have expertise in airspace capacity modelling, scheduling algorithms, optimisation or trajectory prediction. Knowledge of advanced air mobility and vertiport concept of operations would be an advantage.
