Salary:  £32,348 to £43,414 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are looking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher in the area of machine learning for multi-agent coordination. Applicants should have a PhD computer science or a related area, and an excellent background in reinforcement learning and/or multi-agent systems.
The researcher will work under the supervision of Professor Tony Pridmore and Professor Brian Logan to develop approaches to allow agents to learn norms (behavioural conventions) that allow autonomous systems which are not co-designed to coordinate their activities.

This role is fixed term until 16th December 2023. The opportunity of an extension will depend on the availability of further funding. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week).
