Research Fellow (108677-0124)

Updated: 3 months ago
Location: Coventry, ENGLAND
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 11 Feb 2024

This full-time post is available for up to 24 months to undertake research on Environmental, Social, and Economic Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and users’ perception and policy impact analyses of Laser-based Technologies for Green Manufacturing. This position is part of the project entitled Boosting the adoption of Ultrashort Pulsed Laser large scale structuring with an agile, dexterous and efficient manufacturing platform (OPeraTIC; https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101058409 )

You will work with the Principal Investigators to apply advanced LCA methodologies for ex-ante process-option analysis in view of forecasting the sustainability of radically new, emerging process designs for laser-based manufacturing, rather than only making traditional post-assessment. Those process designs are based on OPeraTIC experimental and simulation data performed by the project partners.

You will deliver a life cycle assessment (LCA, LCC, s-LCA) report, as well as a users’ perception report and policy recommendations.

This post provides a unique opportunity to perform cutting-edge research within the framework of the Horizon Europe OPeraTIC project.

You will assist the Principal Investigators of the OPeraTIC project and, where appropriate, project collaborators in the successful execution of the project.

You will undertake independent and collaborative research and will be expected to write up your research for publication.

We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.

Full details of the duties and selection criteria for this role can be found in the vacancy advert on the University of Warwick's jobs pages. You will be routed to this when you click on the Apply button.
